When was the last time you went on a spur-of-the-moment getaway?
We planned a mini-day at The Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island (just a short drive from Myrtle Beach) and we were not at all expecting it to feel like we were on vacation, but we did! It was a perfect, quiet, relaxing, dreamy afternoon with the girls. And it is now on the top of our list for a day-date with our husbands. They even have a great playground if you wanted to bring out the whole family!

We started our afternoon at BisQit where we ate entirely too much but it was too delicious to resist. *Pro tip: get a biscuit… it’s worth the carb splurge. They also had insanely amazing burgers where you could add practically anything you could imagine as a topping! We did not have room to indulge in a milkshake but we hear those are worth another trip on their own… adding it to our to-eat list!

After a stroll through a handful of shops (seriously, you could stay at the Hammock Shops ALL day) we stopped in Coastal Wine Boutique and enjoyed a wine tasting. For $10 you can sample an array of fine wines — you cannot beat that! They also sell high-end wines that are difficult to find. We LOVED our sommelier and felt like pros by the end of our tasting!

Quality time is one of the love languages we value most, so taking the time to go on a mini-getaway (even if you don’t have time for a full-blown vacation) is so important to cultivating your relationships/marriage. We love that the Hammock Shops are so close but allow us to feel like we are out of town. It’s one of those rare places that makes you want to unplug and enjoy.
